![]() | This CD gathers selected compositions of F. X. Thuri (*1939). Czech Madrigalists performs his Missa F-dur (1958), so-called the Kajetan mass, which he composed in 19 years. The CD contains one of his four concerts for oboe, the concert in D minor for oboe, strings and harpsichord (1984), and Capriccio in F major for two oboes, basoon, strings, and harpsichord (1987). A large composition Vodní hudba "Water music" (1996) is recorded, composed specially for a festival in Český Krumlov. František Xaver Thuri - Stabat Mater, Requiem
![]() | I composed Stabat Mater in 1965 and I finished my Requiem on October 30, 1968. I wrote both works in the baroque style. Since their completion, the works have been performed by many church choirs. In spite of the gravity of the themes, heter is not only sorrow and despair in the music, but there are also echoes of the joyful Christian belief in the higher meaning of human exiatence.
